About EYP Ireland
Founded in 1987, the European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a truly unique organisation reaching out to young people across Europe and encouraging them to have their say on the future of their continent.
EYP International, which is based in Berlin, has organised almost fifty conferences for thousands of young people across Europe in a celebration of youth and diversity.
EYP Ireland has been in existence for over 10 years. Since our foundation we have organised dozens of weekend-long sessions for secondary school students across Ireland, promoting awareness of European issues among young people.
It is our mission in EYP Ireland to develop an interest in young people in these issues. We seek to empower youth to question the world around them and come up with innovative solutions to global problems, while emphasising concepts of cooperation and respect. It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us in this mission, and let the voices of our young people be heard.
Our Activities
EYP Ireland organises several weekend-long conferences each year which are open to secondary school students in transition and fifth year. Participants from these conferences will take part in the National Selection Conference from which 16 students will be chosen to represent Ireland at International European Youth Parliament Conferences abroad.

International Sessions
From our National Selection Conference, 16 individual students will be selected to represent Ireland at an international conference of the European Youth Parliament. These conferences are longer versions of our national sessions and incorporate celebrations of national customs, music and food. They bring together over 200 young people from over 28 countries.
The experience of an international conference is unforgettable, and it is a rare opportunity to come face to face with young people with completely different backgrounds and perspectives. After the conference when the delegates return home, their resolutions are formally presented to the European Parliament in Brussels. As our testimonials prove, it truly is the experience of a lifetime.
